Einar walked home with the big dog. Since the kid didn't know its real name he made one up. Sock seemed to like it trotting beside and waving his grand flag of a tail. As they entered the door Einar remembered the promise he made to his uncle about cleaning up after a pet. The youngster smiled and sighed, "Unc, where is the shovel?"

"Cool," Hal said about the new family member. "He'll never come and say he wants to move to California."

Rosa added, "And he won't get a girlfriend that hates me."
