Carnival flyer on Seattle telephone pole

Red and blue lights strobed onto a Seattle telephone pole making it look like a modern artist's Christmas tree. A poster stapled to the tall post made illusory promises it couldn't keep heralding a traveling carnival's visit to the Pacific Northwest silicon forest known for churning out everything from airplanes and computers to face melting rock bands and cups of joe with, "Step right up for a never-before ride experience you won't forget, hypothetically impossible, one-two punch of wonderment! Catch it while you can! *subject to change depending what's legal per state." Wailing sirens, screeching tires, and overlapping radio chatter pierced the clammy fog while first responders converged at a two-alarm fire in a jewelry store.
