Janaki washed the mud off her four by four ring bearer. Then she walked inside the store to the parts shelf where she had left the dusty box containing the OFF-ROAD grille emblem. The young woman snapped pieces off the chrome badge and knelt in front of the blazing yellow convertible. As Janaki replaced the three letters she smiled, "Name drop: Ora the Four-Wheel Drive."
About the story. Ora the Four-Wheel Drive was inspired by this 4WD that I enjoyed for many years. Like the mini SUV in the story, these utility vehicles were withdrawn from the United States because of their reputation for questionable handling and low sales.
The snow-capped volcano was modeled after nearby Mount Rainier, and inspired by a fun fact that Walt Disney and his beloved bride visited the mountain on their honeymoon in 1925.
