Man and woman at the stable

Just as Giant and company finished a couple arrived. The weary and footsore carpenter by trade and his wife needed to sojourn in the humble stable because there were no other settlements for them to take shelter. Soon after, the time came for the young woman to give birth to a child.

Nomadic shepherds came to the little town to see them. The new parents listened while the rod-carrying herdsmen related their story of how a candescent angel of the Lord appeared as they tended their flocks. They trembled at the wonder, but the luminary proclaimed, “Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”
